Kapp Soldering Fluxes

Kapp Alloy and Wire, Inc. supplies flux for the removal of oxides and other contaminants from your parts to allow a strong consistent molecular bond between the solder and parts. These fluxes fall into two categories – fluxes for soldering to Aluminum, and fluxes for soldering to Brass, Copper, and Stainless Steel. The fluxes are further segregated to work with low-temperature solders below 550°F (288°C) and with high-temperature solders above 550°F (288°C).

Fluxes for Soldering Aluminum

Kapp Golden™ Flux has been designed specifically for KappAloy9™ and KappAloy15™ low temperature soldering of Aluminum to Aluminum, Copper, and Stainless Steel. Liquid Golden Flux flows well and penetrates tight joints and stranded wire very well. It is a golden colored, Chloride-free, organic-based flux containing 56-60% active ingredients consisting of amines and complex inorganic fluorides.

Kapp Lunar™ Flux Paste: 550-800°F (288-427°C)

Kapp Lunar™ Flux is designed for the high temperature soldering of all common Aluminum and Zinc Diecast alloys with an active temperature range of 550-800°F (288-427°C). It is formulated to work specifically with Kapp Alumite™ solder. The paste stays where it is applied to simplify the soldering process.

Fluxes for Soldering Metals Other Than Aluminum

Kapp Comet™ Flux: 350-550°F (177-288°C)

Kapp Comet™ Flux is a liquid flux designed for the low temperature soldering of all common metals except Aluminum with an active temperature range of 350-550F° (177-288°C). It is highly recommended for use with KappZapp™ Silver solder on Stainless Steel.

Kapp CopperBond™ Flux: 550-800°F (288-427°C)

Kapp CopperBond™ Flux is a liquid flux designed for the high temperature soldering of all common metals except Aluminum with an active temperature range of 550-800°F (288-427°C). This flux is excellent for use with KappTec™ and KappZapp7™ solders, displaying excellent wetting properties.

KappZipp™ Flux: Self-Cleaning Soldering Paste

KappZipp™ Flux is a self-cleaning, non-acid, petrolatum-based soldering paste flux containing Zinc Chloride. It is designed for use on most common metals except Aluminum and Magnesium with an active temperature range of 200-600°F (95-315°C). The petrolatum helps protect the solder joint against corrosive attack while the past form insures that the flux stays in place until you are ready to solder.
