KappZapp3.5™ is Kapp Alloy & Wire's 96.5Sn/3.5Ag lead-free, cadmium-free eutectic solder, built for a strong, ductile joint on copper, brass, and stainless steel. As a silver solder for copper, brass, and stainless steel, it melts at 430°F (221°C), low enough to protect sensitive components and thin-wall tubing while still forming a dependable bond.
As a high strength, low temp NSF compliant silver solder, KappZapp3.5™ is rated safe for potable water lines alongside work in electronics, fabrication, ducting, stainless steel food equipment, storage bins, precision instruments, and refrigeration coils. Joints hold tensile strengths to 33,000 psi and resist vibration and stress over continuous use.
Solid KappZapp3.5™ ships in tube and spool formats from 1/32" to 1/8" diameter, sized for bench work and higher-volume production runs alike. Rosin-cored (KappZapp3.5R) and acid-cored (KappZapp3.5A) versions are available separately for jobs needing a self-fluxing wire; Kapp Comet™ Flux is the recommended pairing for solid forms.

96.5Sn/3.5Ag Lead-Free Tin-Silver Solder
KappZapp3.5™ Tin-Silver solder is a NSF compliant Lead-free eutectic solder that provides a strong and ductile joint with a high tolerance to vibration and stress on Copper, Brass, and Stainless Steel. In many cases, a stronger overall assembly exists after joining with KappZapp3.5™ Tin-Silver solder than with higher cost higher temperature Silver brazing alloys. The low eutectic melting temperature of 430°F (221°C) prevents loss of properties and minimizes distortion on thin wires, tabs, and sheets.
NSF Compliant
This product complies with NSF/ANSI Standard 372: Drinking Water System Components – Lead Content. Product also complies to NSF/ANSI 61, Annex G and conforms with Lead content requirements for “Lead-free” plumbing as defined by California, Vermont, Maryland, and Louisiana state laws and the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act in effect as of January 4, 2014. Weighted average lead content < 0.25%; Solder and flux lead content < 0.20%.
This alloy complies with the European RoHS and REACH directives. No lead, cadmium or mercury used in production.
