Kapp Golden Flux™ - Soldering Flux for Aluminum to Aluminum & Copper350°F- 550°F (177°C - 288°C)
Kapp Golden Flux™ has been designed specifically for soldering Aluminum to Aluminum, Copper, and Stainless Steel. Kapp Golden Flux™ is available in both LIQUID and PASTE Formulas. For both formulas:
- Effective fluxing action occurs at 350°F to 550°F (177°C - 288°C).
- DO NOT OVERHEAT – flux will char at temperatures above 550°F.
- The resulting solder joint provides a low electrical resistance contact surface.
LIQUID Kapp Golden Flux™ flows well and penetrates tight joints and stranded wire very well. It is a golden colored, Chloride-Free, organic-based flux containing 56-60% active ingredients. It is a liquid consisting of amines and complex inorganic fluorides.
Kapp Golden Flux™ PASTE is designed to stay were you put it. It is designed for use on Aluminum-to-Aluminum or Aluminum-to-Copper sheets and tabs where fluxing action is over a limited area. Conversely, it does not flow as well into tight joints as the LIQUID Golden Flux™ formulation. It is a golden colored, Chloride-Free, organic-based paste containing 56-60% active ingredients.
Benefits and Uses
Aluminum-to-Aluminum or Aluminum-to-Copper wire pigtail splices. Aluminum to Copper, Brass or plated terminals and hot dip coating of Aluminum cable connectors to provide a low resistance contact surface.
Residue is electrically conductive and slightly corrosive. We recommend that users remove any residue with hot water or alcohol and a clean rag.
The following chart represents the physical properties of LIQUID Kapp Golden Flux™. Please consult the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheet for more product and safety information. Many factors, such as materials, temperature, and method of application determine the most effective flux. Call Kapp for engineering assistance to discuss your specific needs. We recommend testing appropriate fluxes in your specific application to ensure suitability. Small quantities of both fluxes are available at:
