Kapp Comet Flux™ - Soldering Flux for Non-Aluminum 350°F- 550°F (177°C - 288°C)
Kapp Comet Flux™ has been designed specifically for soldering all common metals except Aluminum. Kapp Comet Flux™ is an activated liquid flux, a mixture of inorganic salts in water, with approximately 35-40% active ingredients.
Benefits and Uses
Highly recommended for use with Silver solders on Stainless Steel. Excellent for use with all solders and metals other than Aluminum when temperature requirements are between 350°F - 550°F (177°C - 288°C). Excellent wetting properties.
Effective fluxing action on metal surfaces is 350°F- 550°F (177°C - 288°C). NOTE: COMET FLUX™ WILL CHAR AT TEMPERATURES EXCEEDING 550°F (288°C). Copper-Bond Flux™ is the appropriate flux for higher soldering temperatures on non-Aluminum.
Residue is slightly corrosive, and easily removed with hot water rinse, or a clean wet rag.
The following chart represents the physical properties of Kapp Comet Flux™. Many factors, such as materials, temperature, and method of application determine the most effective flux. Call Kapp for engineering assistance to discuss your specific needs. We recommend testing appropriate fluxes in your specific application to ensure suitability. Samples of Kapp fluxes are always available upon request.
